Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information)
The Muscular Dystrophy Association serves families diagnosed with one of 43 different neuromuscular diseases. MDA offers various health care servics to the families, as well as MDA summer camp for those between the ages of 6 and 21.

MDA summer camp is a one-week, overnight camp held in Wakefield, VA (1.5 hours south of Richmond). Each one of the campers is assigned their own volunteer counselor to assist with their daily activities. This may include pushing their wheelchairs or helping a camper with walking, eating, toileting, bathing and dressing. The degree of disability varies. The volunteers relationship with their camper is also extremely important. The volunteer should have a cheerful, warm and congenial personality, and must posses a deep desire to help a special person.

The dates of camp are June 9-15, 2007.
